Voltron Opinions

I am not too impressed with Voltron, seeing as it is a reskin of Crow's Collab from JP, which wasn't that great either. Even then, we are missing the Fujin-esque card from the collab and I don't see myself pulling beyond my one fun pull I do with every collab. Still, seeing Voltron as a JP reskin opens the door for NA to receive more exclusive collabs as reskins.

Keith is usable. He could be a semi-replacement for Sado/Chad if you never rolled Bleach, and the 50% extra heal is nice. However, it does change the top row which may have locks from farming certain dungeons, as opposed to Laila which changes the bottom row and is on a 5 turn CD. The awakenings are lacking in desirable utility, so I wouldn't recommend using him as a sub outside of early game, or as a perseverance leader.

Score: C+

Lance doesn't impress. It is an unbindable water card with natural physical killer (unique but kinda useless) but also doesn't have SBR and a pretty garbage skill. If you somehow need an unconditional attack with a boost, sure he's the card for you but I think the Norse series would be more suitable in both body and inherit. Maybe has applications for hitting a 50% resolve under to help kill easier?

Pidge is my pick for best 4*. The skill can be quite useful on wood teams for the slight boost and move time, and is on a pretty short CD to boot. She does lack in SB though, but the multiboost and the double SBR will definitely come in handy in a few places. The OE+ and dark resists make her a more attractive base, and the low CD means you can inherit over if you please. I can see her being really useful on Odindra or Acala, if you run them.

Hunk is a button. He is also a simple orb change and jammer clear, but aside from that there are stronger things you could farm up. If you needed a tama/predra/tan/py killer for Myr, this is the card for you. 99 damage is also good if you need one for making Zeal easy in machine dungeons.

Score: C-

Shiro is a well rounded card, and with no other offensive awakenings his attacker killer may be controllable. Orb lock removal is somewhat niche in utility, but the orb create is usable for leads like RVritra and RIndra. Still, he is pretty lackluster for a 5* but at least he might be somewhat useful as an orb unlock inherit.

Score: C

A decent 4*, Coran can be useful for Arondight/Amenominakushi teams (currently JP only) and also offers 2 SBR. He can be quite good for early game teams because of this, but eventually he will become just a decent orb unlock inherit. Healer/machine and type/attribute coverage may also come in handy if you need it.

Score: C+

Allura is my pick for best card out of the collab. With the shift away from heart cross, heartbreak is slightly more desirable and she also serves as bad orb clear. Plus, the additional light skyfall is a boon for teams like Ilm, RSakuya, or LMeta. Her awakening array is quite good, offering everything you would want out of a sub, and you can always not awaken the devil killer if it pleases. She can also be a substitute for BValk on RKush teams, though she may throw off a a Heradra approach in A3. However, if you have Fujin on the team it won't matter. 7c has proven to be worthy on a lot of teams, and I can see Allura used as color coverage or as a solid sub.

Score: A-

Voltron is a good card to have in the box, if you need an unbindable red machine. However, it lacks any kind of good offensive awakenings like TPAs or rows which leaves it as a high CD unbindable cleric. 3 SB is good though, and the skill is also a good orb change and unlocker for a Shivadra or Dantalion team. It is also a good color coverage sub, and might have a few applications for farming teams. Aside from being a sub, it may be a good high HP leader with a workable restrictive subpool that includes RFreyr, Kagu, RL Tsubaki, and most notably Elgenubi. RCV would be a problem for this kind of team, but you could make use of Keith from above to help out.

Score: B+

Overall Thoughts: I would say this is a bait collab, but most collabs are bait anyways. With a few cards to pull from, it may be easier to get one of the better ones, but always be prepared to roll silver eggs all day if you really want the better ones. Barely passable collab, but you could get some value if you lack a lot of cards.
