Heroine Buff Review

This is a collaboration article between myself and some friends, where we each put our own input and score for the heroine collab buffs.

Barbara

Meo: I do not like Barbara. She did not receive the dragon typing for her LS that everyone wanted, and machine typing only is way too restrictive and the range of subs is not great. The 4-match type like Noctis or Kinnikuman is fun, but few of her available subs get TPAs. The HP and RCV will help you stall out for a board, so it may be better to just setup a board, then match your orbs when you need to sweep. Overall the worst pull in the REM in my opinion. As a sub, she offers the devil and machine killers that Baldin doesn’t, and brings no SBR as well. Her active is marginally useful for niche leaders when used as a sub, but at least it’s a good inherit.
Grade: D (should be F)

Marq: Just no. She's what you call wasted potential with a lead not getting dragon inclusion in her LS. No offensive awakenings other than killers, no SBR, 4 match restriction while needing to match 2 colors, incredibly shallow sub pool which have almost no utility other than Baldin, Ninegaruda, and Elgenubi without having to inherit much better monsters on top of meh monsters. Decent inherit though.
Grade: D (F)

Goochi: LUL. 3 SB isn’t bad but why go 3 when you have 4 from Tengu? The killers are fairly niche and don’t serve much purpose in a team unless you want to cheese the new c10 or something. The HP is underwhelming, and so is the RCV. I guess the attack is high for being such a bad card. The active is a niche one, as I say once again, its okay for cheesing some dungeons, but doesn’t really have a practical use. The Leader skill looks interesting but oh wait, would you look at that. It is so restrictive. You practically need more Barbaras on the team but more Barbaras means less actually useful subs. The part I dislike the most is that they turned a mad tanned loli into a berserk furious loli.
Grade:D (F)

Total Grade: D (F)

Elgenubi

Meo: Red Escha is quite useful. She can be an active enhancer when inherited on top of Krishna, or as a sub for any fire team that doesn’t require hearts. Guaranteed OE+ is always a plus for any team, so any color Escha is really good. As a leader, she is just a reskinned Escha, and I feel like her use will mostly be reserved for being a sub. With how strong Krishna is, Elgenubi is a must to increase throughput and have more fire skyfall to feed his orb hunger. She only received some stat buffs, so nothing else really changed for her.
Grade: B

Marq: Red Escha with the 3rd best artwork due to her evo. All these red OE+ but no real home for although there are teams she works well on. She works well on some teams like Krishna, Shivadra, Kenshin, Ilimina, and split Rodin. Unfortunately she doesn’t have a place on Dantalion since she breaks hearts. On all the previously mentioned teams she works as both a sub and an inherit since all those leads benefit from fire skyfall and lots of fires. As a lead she is a 1.5/6/1.5 match lead evo a 1.5/6/1.5 5 match after evo. She does get some interesting subs such as Markab, Antares, Denebola with some fire making inherit, Baldin, Kuvia, Homura and Misato&AA Wunder from the EVA collab. It’s just unfortunate that she doesn’t include god typing like Bride Escha and beach Escha.
Grade: B

Goochi: I love this artwork. I could possibly see this for my arena speed clears if I never get my Hera dragon for Yomidra. The awakenings are a nice touch. I could see this on a Krishna team. The main focus is that for newer players, this could easily clear A1 and dungeons near the difficulty. Don’t see on any of my farming teams tho L.
Grade: C

Total Grade: B-

Ilmina(split)

Meo: Maximum floof is a pretty nice card to roll from the REM. Her skill is absolutely great for farming, and the resulting board is good for teams that use her colors. Dropping killers for dark resist and a 7c awakening is pretty nice, considering she makes a 7x6 board and 7c isn’t very difficult on those boards, while having no killers eliminate damage control problems. A strong leader pairing for Xiu Min or Ilm, or a board change sub with true damage as well.
Grade: A

Marq: The fluff lost her SB and killer this is a sad time. With this evo Ilmina decides to completely redesign herself by flipping her main and sub attribute, and ditching her killers and 2 SB for 15% dark resist and the 7 combo enhance awakening as well as an impressive 2k hp. As a sub she fits perfectly on Ilm teams as she has an Ilm active but also true damage which allows to clear floors like Tamas, fatty dragon, py, predra or even z8's first form. She also fits on Xiu Min, Revo Venus, and NY Yomi teams. A quick not although she doesn’t have traditional offensive awakenings the 7c enhance awakening provides 2x damage to the monster per awakening so having one is better than having one tpa but worse than two. As for a lead she still makes a 7x6 and is a 20.25x for dual leads with a 43.75% damage reduction when you activate which is matching fire & light. She makes an interesting lead as she can pair with Ilm at best I believe or even Tifa or Xiu min to provide those teams with a small but consistent shield that doesn’t require the use of an active. Although I think this form of Ilmina will not have as much use over time compared to the 4sb killer version (the farm/good form).
Grade: B

Goochi: Oh boy. It just got real. This version traded 2 of her SB with an SBR, 3 dark resists, and a 7 combo boost awakening. This version is a very tanky leader. It is also pretty viable if paired with a friend Ilm, not Ilmina. This set of awakenings is more suited for more real dungeons like A3. The stat is 1 off from original Ilmina, being at 983, but you can’t be too mad when you have 7010 HP, that’s 3rd highest in the game as of right now. It is absolutely bonkers. The RCV did get shafted quite hard, and so did the ATK. But having the 7 combo buff does help the attack section. Also having a shield is quite nice for gravities since that Low RCV means less healing. The active remained the same which is nice because I don’t have to skill up different things again zzz.
Grade: A(S)

Total Grade: A

Juri

Meo: Water now has access to a 50% shield aside from Yo, and Julie is pretty decent. Her array of awakenings is great for non A3 content, and offers a decent multiplier. She can be paired with Balboa for the RCV boost, or Artemis to stack more HP (though you’d want the RCV). The addition of the damage reduction baked into her LS as well makes her pretty tanky, and I see use as a water or grass TPA leader.  As a sub, she is basically a blue lead balboa, so not as good.
Grade: B

Marq: Here’s the good blue shield I would've said we needed except for the fact that we got Yo who also is a double orb changer. But Juri still has a place since she’s a blue Balboa with dragon killer. Void def is helpful when farming or if you’re running a blue team that has a problem breaking high def or need shield. Some examples would be Revo Lak, Rukia, Revo Karin (if she ever gets announced to get one), Revo Hermes and RyuneI&I teams. With the given teams she may be a better inherit than sub due to not having actual offensive awakenings. As for a lead though that’s where she gets interesting. She is basically first evo balboa with an hp multi and 25% shield before evo and lead balboa after. Given the fact she has an hp multiplier instead of RCV it might be more beneficial to lead with friend balboa even though you'll lose out on a base orb changer. One thing to note is her hp multiplier and static multiplier are only 1.5x instead of 2 so you'll have to combo more when doing chip damage without trying to fully active. The drop from 2x hp from A.Artemis to 1.5x from isn’t too bad since you'll get a 25% shield when you match wood&water.
Grade: B

Goochi: Glad to see her take of her goofy glasses. Her awakenings are strong as they provide reasonable non niche killers *Cough Barbara Cough*. Juri isn’t meant to go as a Radra sub though. Those killers will come in the way during A3. But during like some casual A1 runs, she will decimate everything. Her active is basically balboa so it’s a meh for me. Slightly niche, okay for some dungeons with high def. I could go on about something something blue shield but since the introduction of skill assist that has become less of a sell point. Her LS is really good in my opinion. High damage, Tanky, while reducing damage? Sign me in oh baby jesus. Paired with balboa, this could become a disgusting lead. If only if it had a better Active skill I would not hesitate to give it a S. The stats are high up there, ranking it at 868. I really like this card and hope to see it to be put on more use.
Grade: A

Total Grade: B+

Kuvia

Meo: Kind of wanted an SBR so she could be used on Shivadra teams for mass TPAs, but w/e. She makes a decent sub/inherit  for Dantalion teams, which I hear is quite decent with the new buff, as well as any other red TPA team as a double orb create that doesn’t break hearts. The heart skyfall is just a bonus, and 2 SB doesn’t hurt at all. Aside from that, the high attack with the 4 TPAs means she will do great work. Not much use as a leader.
Grade: B

Marq; Where’s the SBR. Please gibe SBR. Kthx. For real though, An SBR would have made it fantastic for a short 10+ easy dungeon. But now my dream is crushed. Even with SBR badge my Shivadra team would only have 90% and we know not 100% = 0%. 2nd SB is nice tho. The attack is fairly high for being such a TPA heavy card. Active is nice in the sense that it doesn’t break hearts and is a double orb changer. What I dislike is that it increases heart orb drop rates. RIP my rankings QQ. Leaderskill is nothing to be impressed at. Heroine collab does not have that good of leader worthy monsters.
Grade: C

Goochi: Kuvia is one of the 5*s that has a few teams she can go on and isn’t just a niche sub/inherit. Kuvia as a sub is bringing 4 prongs and 2 SB with her evo (only 1 SB pre-evo) so she'll be putting out some decent damage. Although like Mito and Momiji doesn’t have a SBR which could put teams at risk if the lead doesn’t have sbr or another sub is missing one. She has being red/blue as well as being machine and god typing going for her which gives her access to be subs on some of the best fire leads such as Shivadra, Revo Shiva, and to some extents Dantalion, Krishna and Christmas Gremory. Unfortunately she doesn’t really have a place on Yamamoto and A.Cao Cao but if you have no other option she works but beware of sbr problems with Yamamoto. The reason Kuvia can work on all these teams is because for one she is a double orb changer who doesn’t break hearts so you can flood yourself with reds while keeping hearts on the board. The second reason is she has a heart skyfall buff although its only for two turns it minimizes the chance that you don’t have hearts if/when you need them as well as lowering the chance of having to use a heart maker for Dantalion and Christmas Grem, beware it does overwrite Krishna's skyfall buff.
Grade: C

Total Grade: C+

Mel

Meo: Surprisingly not the worst pull in the REM anymore. She is a blue Juggler that doesn’t get the enjoyment of Awoken Pandora, and gets access to some of the best subs with multiple TPAs or Rows to exploit. However, Juggler isn’t as good anymore in this meta so Mel isn’t as strong as intended to be, and her active doesn’t guarantee activation if you have no hearts. Low CD means you can always inherit over it though. As a sub, she is pretty lackluster but at least she guarantees enhanced heart orbs.
Grade: D

Marq: Debatably the worst roll in the whole machine she is just a joke but at least she gained a SBR with her evo. Converting columns that aren’t on the left or rightmost really screw with the board. To her credit she does make exactly 5 heart orbs which is just enough for a cross but you have the change to change your attacking orb color as well as having to waste extra movement time if that isn’t the location you wanted your cross at. One prong and not being an offensive orb changer is lackluster but works if she is all you have. Now as a lead she is the closest NA has to Juggler which is way too late and also that fact that the team has to be row based and use the best base blue row subs in the game is a big hurdle to get over in order to make the team.
Grade: D

Goochi: LUL #2 right next to Barbara. Not even loli, just edgy. Good stats except for RCV, Garbage active, mediocre leader skill, meme worthy.
Grade: D(F)

Total Grade: D

Meridionalis

Meo: Got buffed in a way she didn’t need, kind of like Gremory getting additional rows. She is still immensely strong as a leader, and the increased damage multiplier will clear just about everything you need to. Aside for that, she did not receive any game changing buffs like an SBR. As a sub, she offers lots of rows and a strong active.
Grade: A

Marq: Another row and 100x to 126.56 for another orb. Nothing has changed except sadness for no SBR or SB.
Grade: A

Goochi: GIB 2nd SB! 2nd SB would have helped my Toshiros come up quicker. Those 6 row enhances are overkill IMO since Meri isn’t really lacking in the damage aspect. What would have made her really busted (hehe) would have been a SBR and an extra SB. HP multiplier would have been amazing. The extra multiplier on her Leader skill is nice since it helps for consistency for Ganesha x Meri for devil rush and God rush. The recovery is so good, did not need to be touched on. The active is extremely nice for bypassing combo shields, especially when you’re a row reliant team. This card can beat most stuff, even the hardest dungeon out now, Colosseum (can confirm, was surprisingly easy for a row team going through combo shields)
Grade: A

Total Grade: A

Mito

Meo: Green Lmeta isn’t entirely terrible, but is extremely weak as a lead. The extra row heart and SB are nice, so she can be used as a base inherit for a green team that needs a cleric or base with devil killers. Rolling a cleric for 10 stones isn’t the greatest though, and will hold you back if you don’t have a strong leader to put Mito on. Mito’s true niche is in farming devil rush with double Ganesha due to 9x killer being extremely strong (see sub Tsubaki).
Grade: C

Marq: Sadly didn’t get that second skill boost she needed and got the row bind clear she should’ve had originally with her evo. She has really nice uses for both ALB devil rush farming where she removes the need for a damage enhance, as well as double Ganesha devil rush team that unfortunately isn’t able to be done in NA due to lack of Whaldor/Verdor. Other than devil rush she really doesn’t have many uses and is outclassed by other wood bind clears. In terms of lead 20.25x is ok if you’re just starting but at the same time you shouldn't be rolling heroine if you're just starting. D

Goochi: I am sad that she didn’t get the 2nd SB that I would have wanted. I would have also wanted some wood row awakenings for her uevo since it does make Ganesha x Liu Bei devil rush farming quite more stable. I would say she is pretty niche in her uses as it restricts her basically to devil rush. As for her active portion I would have to gladly pass on it since there are better options such as Ceres to bind clear. In terms of lead, 20.25x is okay but its 2017 and its powercreeped out of this world. I personally don’t think she deserves all the hate that she’s getting because I do farm a lot and it is nice to kill things through shields because of her decent base stats and her double devil killers. B

Total Grade: C

Momiji

Meo: Sylvie with a light main attribute and plenty of TE. However, she still doesn’t have an SBR so she is quite unwanted as a sub, and most teams will prefer Saria boards due to LAkechi fix for an enhanced bicolor board. Fuma can be used to fix Momiji for bicolor, but it is pretty wasteful to run both as inherits for your team, or having one on the team regardless. You can use Momiji for Kaede teams if you’re still running her in 2017, but otherwise Momiji isn’t very good.
Grade: D

Marq: Where's the SBR, on a serious note she really did need that SBR to gain any real relevance as a decent sub that doesn’t put constraints on the team instead of that SB which isn’t too bad. Having a Sylvie board change without the haste is ok even though her haste never made any big splashes. Momiji is a decent inherit for light teams that have a heart or wood converter. She probably is going to be used be most as an inherit for Myr teams for those who don’t have Saria/Apoc which is fine but be warned that the only monsters that convert wood to light currently are Bride Escha and Fuma Kotaro. There’s also hope that her skill will be one of the top inherits for Reincarnated Apollo since he need both wood and light to fully activate. Most the 5* heroine rolls all follow the same trend as being pretty meh leaders and are easily outclassed for the most part.
Grade: D

Goochi: No SBR naniiiIIIIIII, ok memes aside. She needs that SBR. As for the active it’s a poor man’s Sylvie. Nothing too good since there’s no LAkechi for those kinds of boards. As for the leads it falls down because of its orb requirements for such a lackluster multiplier. I couldn’t see any teams that would use this for farming unless there happens to be one that requires a Sylvie board without the need for haste. On the plus side at least the stats are decent……….. /shrug
Grade: D

Total Grade: D

Navi

Meo: 4 SBR is great for farming teams that need it, next to Beach Chester. Her leader skill grants you a 7x6 to play with your fun heartless leaders like Sakuya, LKali, and Ra, but I don’t forsee Navi being any more useful than that. Revo Sakuya needing 10 combos may find use in a 7x6, but having no tank multiplier makes it difficult for her in the long run. Sherias skill isn’t very good due to hearts being so important in this meta.
Grade: D

Marq: 80% sbr stick that is both dragon and god with regular Sherias active is all that really needs to be said. But on a serious note with her evo matching 5 colors makes her a 1/16/16 lead who makes a 7x6 board means you can happily match mortal poisons.
Grade: C

Goochi: Oh boy the poor man’s beach Chester. I got to say I do like Navi slightly better than Bchester just because of the added SB. Other than that, I can’t say much. The meta doesn’t really favor Lkali board changes at this moment. The stats are good and the active CD is average so you could inherit stuff over her. Her LS is a joke though. Much better choices out there. But the bonus RCV is going to be funny to look at since it is a high multiplier for RCV.
Grade: D

Total Grade: D+

Romia

Meo: Green main Zuoh with a 7x6 board. She received the vital SBR that all good cards should have, so she serves as a decent sub for TE. I feel like she may become useful for Revo Meimei teams, but having no offensive awakenings besides dragon killer may mean other hard hitting TPA subs may be better. Aside from that, 7x6 pairing with Anubis is pretty fun, but aside from that I do not see a real use in Romia.
Grade: C

Marq: A green main Zuoh with 4 fingers. She can be used as an ALB sub if you don’t have/don’t really want to farm Dios since her active and LB/ALB would give you a green and red bicolor board along with 2 sec of movement time thanks to Romia’s awakenings. She also can have potential for Revo Meimei since you'll only need to be matching green and dark for the multi. Romia also has a dragon killer if you're having problems with any dungeon with dragons. As a lead Romia makes a fun pairing with Anubis giving you a 7x6 board you’ll just have to remember to match multiple sets of wood and dark but outside of that no real use as a lead.
Grade: C

Goochi: Best Anubis sub next to Yuna :^) (Compliments to Marq). A green color Zuoh isn’t that bad IMO. It actually appeals to me that we get a different colored Zuoh. Artwork is <3 too. The awakenings are good for players that started to learn how to combo. An extra skill boost would have been nice because it would have been a good Leeza Replacement for SDR farming teams. Speaking of SDR farming teams, the dragon killer is a double edged sword. Romia might go too much over. It really depends on the use. The leader skill is okay. The 7x6 board might be used for Anubis and such. The other damaging aspect isn’t really too good. As I said before for some other cards, 25x for such a low multiplier isn’t a good thing in 2017.
Grade: C

Total Grade: C

Sheena

Meo: It’s a bicolor light and dark board. She got a SBR to make her a decent sub, but there aren’t many teams looking for a bicolor light and dark, namely Noctis or Revo Vritra. Physical killer is pretty useless and machine killer only comes in handy rarely, so I expect to see Sheena used as mainly an inherit for those teams that like bicolors like Anubis. Otherwise, weak card.
Grade: C

Marq: Not much to say about Sheena she’s a bicolor board changer and the only one to make only light & dark, has physical and machine killer and gains sbr with the evo( finally an sbr is gained). She pretty much plays her role as an inherit much better than Momiji since leads like Noctis and Anubis like bicolor boards the later much more than the former. She could also be a good board change inherit for Yomidra and awoken Ichigo/Saito.
Grade: C

Goochi: Decent Awakenings, Nice Stats, No hatsL. Sheena is the first Dark + Light bicolor board changer. With a short CD and having a Dark Base (very nice because of Assist buffs). Leader skill is meh. For most parts I don’t really think that these heroine rem cards have the best leader skill out there at least for right now.
Grade: B

Total Grade: C+

Uruka

Meo: WOW. Uruka is the main star of this REM now due to everyone wanting damage absorb void for garbage spawns Sopdet, Parvati, Vishnu, and Heradra. Tacking on a DKali board change on top of it was pretty unnecessary, but appreciated so you can always do your Radra activation when you pop your damage absorb void. The skill may be quite long to activate, but it makes a lot of things much easier when you don’t need to control damage, so overall very worth. Being both God and Dragon type means she is useful for rainbow teams Roots and Radra, while covering water for those teams. Both ults have their ups and downs, namely the Radra-esque split getting prongs but no shield, and the normal Uruka getting an RCV multiplier. It will be acceptable to pair with another lead here, since you may want the other leader to cover what Uruka doesn’t. The 7x6 will allow you to activate almost any turn, and a normal DKali board change should guarantee you can get those TPAS for maximum damage.
Grade: A+

Marq: Now here’s were thing get fun, for the first form of Uruka we get the first main blue monster that has a DKali board who also happens to have Fujin's skill. So one debatably two of the most sought after active skills on a single card at a 24 cd max skilled. Although the cool down may seem long is better to think of it as Fujin's skill with a DKali board at the cost of 5 more turns. She’s God and dragon with a sbr so she fits on Radra and Roots teams while covering that blue slot that may or may not be a problem for some. This form has basically DKali's awakenings but replacing the sing prong for a 7c enhance awakening which is better in a sense. She basically fits on rainbow teams that actually give her their full multi. As a lead she makes the board 7x6 and is basically DKali LS with a 25% shield, 43.75% for dual leads and doesn’t even have a type restriction. She actually makes a decent lead since whenever you activate you’ll have a shield in case of preemptives at the cost of having to activate and only getting the shield for matching five colors. Now on the other hand her evo flips her attributes so she’s dark main. Along with the attribute flip she loses the 7c enhance awakening for 2 prongs to match Radra as well as gaining a substantial 1k atk at the cost of 1k hp. On the lead side of things she becomes a 42.25x lead at the cost of trading the shield for an rcv multi so you lose the ability to tank and to be able to recover from them as long as you activate.
Grade: A

Goochi: POGCHAMP. Same awakenings as super mega ultra-chicken = amazing already. The active CD may come a tad bit long but it’s a great base. Stats are magnificent, weighing it at a 979, almost at those reincarnated bad boys. Active is useful in so many situations. Let’s say in coop, you and your partner have Uruka, there goes Vishnu and Heradra, easy as that. That Dkali board change is perfect for the current chicken meta. The LS is meh to me since I am not the largest fan of 7x6 boards. But it does fit with some leads like Evangelion Miru. Both versions are good but I am fan of the Dark one since it has the same main att. as Dkali: P

New Weapon/Brave Series Opinions

These are all pretty good bases for button farming, with multiboost and stupidly high attack, and an SBR to boot. Only have 1 SB, but I think for where you want to use her for buttoning the teams should already have a high amount of SB anyways.
All of their awakenings consist of being unbindable, one SBR, one SB, a row heart, and a multiboost.

The skills look largely like Aizen's skill, with double orb change and an element flip, but they do not make on color orbs if used as a sub on teams, which makes the skill more useful while they are a leader.

Claíomh Solais

She will be the highest attack in the game with a multiboost. Should make buttoning Starden easier, and possibly even without having Grimmjow on both sides.

Skill: Water > Light, Dark > Heal. Change attribute to Light for 2 turns.
Wukong's skill, but without the heart enhance. 1 turn faster CD, so can be useful for any light teams if needed for SI.

Leader: Light Atk x 5, Fire Hp x 1.5. 1.5x Atk for 2 Light combos, 2x for 3+ Light combos
Having no preference for rows or TPAs means you can go in any direction. Largely, I can see an interesting pairing with Tifa or Ilmina for the enlarged board, and the added HP boost she provides will pair greatly. Ilm of course is a great sub, as well as any usual light power subs like Ariel, NY Kanna, or even split Hathor to utilize those 7c awakenings.

Grade: A

Arondight

Still impressive attack stats for a button base, and on color for Grimmjow inherit stat boost. Can also hold great water inherits like Isis or Orochi, if you really needed her typing or attribute coverage.

Skill: Fire > Light, Dark > Heal. Change attribute to Light for 2 turns.
A reverse DQXQ active. I guess you could combo this with a Gadius board if you wanted a more even split of orbs, or as a substitute for LAkechi/NYHanzo on a Saria board.

Leader: Light 5x Attack, Water 1.5x HP. 2x Attack when 6+ connected Lights.
The leader skill definitely sounds like a row leader to me. You get access to A.DQXQ and L/B Apollo for orb changes, and A.Thor for a boost when considering light main attribute. For a water main attribute it doesn't look as good, since you will want to match light rows for your damage. You can skip water sub attribute if you don't want the HP boost, since the list of light/water row subs isn't the greatest. Raijin I guess is an ok but less than desirable sub, if you use her skill in conjunction with Arondight's for guaranteed 6 lights.

Grade: C

Caladbolg

A light cross leader that uses wood sub attribute for health. It is almost like playing a light version of Aizen, trading an RCV multiplier for an HP multiplier. Also, lowest attack of the series (but still high compared to everything else)

Skill: Water > Light, Fire > Heart. Change attribute to Light for 2 turns.
Pairs with Superman for a light favorable bicolor. Otherwise, only competes with Baal and Wukong for a water > light convert and DQXQ in light attribute for fire > heart. If you don't have them, this kind of orb convert is useful.

Leader: 5x Atk to Light, 1.5x HP to wood. 2x Atk for each light cross.
So many similarities to Aizen, but is only a 25x unconditional compared to 36x. You get access to Valkyrie(Ana and chibi as well), and Awoken Apollo for orb changers. You can also sub Athena Another if you have it, or regular Athena, and even Momiji is surprisingly decent here. NY Spica also can be pretty useful to cover SBR and create a column of lights for a guaranteed cross. Awoken Amaterasu and Awoken Indra give Caladbolg easy access to great utility as well. Could make an interesting pairing with Odindra to cover the low RCV, or Ma Chao for a 7x6 and RCV.

Grade: B

Gan Jiang and Mo Ye

I love me some dark row leads. However, the light/dark sub pool isn't the greatest, but if don't mind losing the HP multiplier you get access to really good row subs. On typing for Juza for buttons.

Skill: Water > Dark, Wood > Heal. Change attribute to Dark for 2 turns.
Water to dark is pretty rare, shared by Satsuki and Henry from the Pad Tourney collab series. Can pair with Karin's or Ryune's board for a dark heavy bicolor with hearts.

Leader: 5x Atk to Dark, 1.5x HP to Light. 2x Attack for 6+ connected Darks.
You get access to FA Luci, Escha, Castor, and Lead Akechi as pretty good subs. Sheena is an oncolor bicolor change you could use as a sub, or as a quality inherit. Otherwise, Dark has an abundance of row subs if you don't want the HP multiplier, and you could tap into the TPA side for the unconditional 25x with Sub Satsuki or DKanna. You could also use Dill Sirius system for old school style Shivadra farming, but its 2017. Can also pair with Diao Chan for 7x6 and RCV.

Grade: B

Mysteltainn(?)

Wood and dark funsies. I can see Revo Meimei system being really interesting here, with Gronia board being amazing. Also, the next highest attack with multiboost behind Claíomh Solais, and on typing for Vritra inherit for buttoning.

Skill: Fire > Wood, Light > Heart. Change attribute to Wood for 2 turns.
Fire to wood is decent, and can pair with Leilan or Zuoh/Romia for a wood heavy board. Losing fire/light means it misses out on being excellent for wood cross leads like Acala and Odindra, but its a pretty decent orb change to have.

Leader: 5x Atk to Wood, 1.5 HP to dark. 1.5x Atk for 2 Wood combos, 2x for 3+ Wood combos
I can see a potential in pairing with Romia for a 7x6, but it won't be as strong as Claíomh Solais pairing with Tifa or Ilmina. Revo Meimei system is definitely considered here for funsies. Aside from Meimei, you get Sub Ishida, Gronia, Ruel, Romia, Lead Spica, Ragdra, and Revo Astaroth for noticeable on color subs. A. Freyja, Revo Ceres, and Revo Susano supply decent utility to be considered for base subs as well.

Grade: A

Kind of an interesting series, but should be great for both button farming and as interesting leaders for mid to endgame.

Leader Analysis: Suvo Yomidra

I've largely held back on buying Yomidra due to never rolling Eschamali, and that a 36x sparkles lead wasn't too interesting to me at the time. However, Gremory is receiving a buff to include God typing into her LS, so I told myself why not? I have lots of MP laying around anyways. Yomidra is capable of some really consistent damage, and is relatively strong with the Suvo she will be getting sometime this week. Not to mention, you don't have to limit yourself to using dark subs only, as demonstrated by Reco here.

SUBPOOL: God typing to receive the leader skills buffs. As mentioned above, it is not necessary to go on color with Yomidra to deal consistent damage, but a dark focused team is what you want to go for. Subs with both OE+ and TPA can also be useful if you have the orbs, and as long as you can guarantee an OE+ drop it will work.

POTENTIAL: 5 OE+ match is a board I don't usually play, but it is pretty simple to get used to. Yomidra isn't as difficult to play, especially since her damage is quite efficient and consistent. A higher level player will get a lot of use out of Yomidra, whether it be for speed clears of dungeons or easy dungeon spams. It may be difficult for Yomidra in A3 since she has no HP multiplier, but with the right inherits and setup it should be feasible. Otherwise, Yomidra has some really quick clears for content like A1 or similar difficulty dungeons.

EFFICIENCY: A single firework is all Yomidra needs to deal consistent damage. Combined with added combos, it shouldn't be difficult for Yomidra to always have 5 relevant orbs on the board. Her best sub Eschamali can guarantee additional skyfalls to increase efficiency, and as long as there is 1 enhanced orb on the board you can activate. Yomidra herself will supply 4 dark orbs as well if needed, so it is pretty easy to always get an activation. You should only get into a bind if you get full board changed like Beelzebub, but you could always take an active to deal with it.

STABILITY: No HP multiplier, but Yomidra supplies an all important row heart on an unbindable base. She also can provide 4/6 hearts for that row heart, so she can serve as a soft bind clear if needed. Aizen and Meri have proven that no HP leads can be viable, as long as they can deal high consistent damage. While Yomidra doesn't have the ease of use of those leads, she should still be highly competitive in endgame content.

2/28 3/1 Godfest Opinions

Just my thoughts on this Godfest.
Day 1:
Great inherits like Susano, Indra, Orochi (or Revos if it tickles your fancy) and sometimes Yomi
Power subs Parvati and Hino
Favorable boards from Dragonbounds and Nords, Bicolors from Sonias and Ilm

Day 2:
Sub-God tier farming with ALB (outclassed by collabs Meri and Yamamoto) and decent subs from 3k
India for all around great subs, leader from Krishna, farming from Ganesha, Durga for eventual Dathena
Odins and Kali
Steel Star Gods for skyfall inherits(or subs)
Demon series Gremory and Ronove for lead, Dantalion in the future, Paimon either sub or lead, and Sitri for memes

Bonus: Dragon callers and Sherias are available both days, which are pretty good for any box. (except blue sherias, hes garbo)

Day 1 has your inherits and board changes, Day 2 has your quality cards and farming things. Pick what helps your box the most; values of cards will differ from person to person. My one courtesy roll this time around got me DMeta so I am now only missing Aten and Eschamali from GFEs.

For my grading scale, I will use ABCD grades as follows:

A: This is really good, and is quite a strong addition to any box.
B: Has good applications where needed, and offers your box flexibility.
C: Primarily niche or very situational, but great where applicable.
D: Offers very little to your box, you'd have to scrape really hard to find a use.

Pantheon Review: Egypt 1

Egypt 1 has always been a favorite pantheon of mine. Egypt 1 is full of quality leaders, and the new Revos have made them much more interesting and viable. Rainbow or combo leads start the basis of learning how to play, and I highly recommend using them as leaders to improve your playstyle and skills.

Horus used to be a very strong rainbow leader in the early days, until more rainbow leaders appeared and Horus became less relevant. Horus though has a reasonable multiplier, and a strong array of awakenings to boot. Using a skill to increase multiplier may limit some teams, but getting an RCV boost definitely helps in recovery, though Horus team health doesn't have any boosts. However, the current meta does not favor no-tank builds so his value as a leader is greatly diminished. As a sub, Horus is a luxury damage sub, but double SBR comes in handy for some teams. His low CD makes him a very good inherit base who can pull his weight for the team.

Skill Value: D
Awakenings: A-
Leader Value: B-
Sub Value: B+
Overall Value: B-

Horus is the only Revo I don't have (because lazy) but I would probably use him on a TPA fire team to cover SBR if I wanted to also include good TPA subs like Xmas Liu Bei or Rozuel.

Isis is the definition of a great sub. Unbindable, clears binds, good awakenings, and a low CD to serve as an inherit base. The main use of Isis has been to be the B/G sub for Radra teams and to hold a relevant inherit to fill utility. Otherwise, Isis complements any team (water more dominantly) as a cleric. Isis is the weakest in the pantheon as a leader, but the strongest sub. We are still awaiting what her attribute will be on Revo, and we can all hope it does not change.

Skill Value: A
Awakenings: B+
Leader Value: D
Sub Value: A+
Overall Value: A-

B/G Isis in Revo please. Always been a strong support for teams, and benefits from Orochi assist stat increase.

One of my top 5 favorite leads, Bastet is a very strong combo leader. Before her Revo, she often contributed the least to the damage, and in Revo she pulls more weight but still does the least damage. Getting key access to power TPA subs Vishnu and Kaede make Bastet teams very strong offensively, and having the right utility or defensive actives can really round out the team.. Her buff in JP includes an RCV boost on skill use, which covers her weakness of bad recovery, but she will still rely on higher HP or shields to tackle the most difficult of content. As a sub, she has a low CD like Horus that increases movement time, but more likely you would use her as a base for your utility. Like Horus though, she doesn't tank well to fit in the meta.(but shes still bestcat)

Skill Value: C
Awakenings: B
Leader Value: B+
Sub Value: C-
Overall Value: B-

Bestcat is great to play because combos leads are fun. Having access to those TPA subs make her really strong, but not having them holds you back from her full potential.

A no heart rainbow lead, Ra used to be top tier in earlier days, but has fallen off quite since then. His new Revo allows him to do really good damage, but any leader that doesn't have an HP multiplier better have ease of use damage, and Ra isn't one of them unfortunately. Many people will want Ra as a button for farming guerillas, and this is probably his selling point. As a leader, Ra's output damage is comparatively weak without skill use, and DKali board changes are much better due to always wanting hearts to heal. The damage for matches needed is quite good though, and Ra has the ability to run heartbreakers to further focus damage. As a sub, Ra doesn't bring much to the table.

Skill Value: B (A for buttoning purposes)
Awakenings: C
Leader Value: B+
Sub Value: D
Overall Value: C+

(A for buttoning) Also Dacho carries in Mzeus.

One true doge has always been the tip top of impressive damage and skill display. His JP buff makes him slightly more approachable, since many times a natural board has only 7-8 combos so his activation was quite unreliable. Aside from using Anubis to display skill, he is capable of earth shattering damage through combos, but once again has no HP multiplier. Anubis will be much more consistent when JP buff hits NA, since the starting multiplier is very strong and any extra combos will let him decimate any floor. As a sub, Anubis brings extremely niche counterattack, an orb create that also changes bad orbs, and offers an unbindable base with a row heart. If the skill isn't useful, he can be taken as a utility sub to hold an important inherit.

Skill Value: B+
Awakenings: B+
Leader Value: C
Sub Value: B-
Overall Value: B-

Use Gunma to continue getting that bonus multiplier. Active lets you cheese Zera, and lead score is only lowered for inconsistency and difficulty for newer players.

Pantheon Grade: B-
If it seems lower than I make it to be it would be because of the very separate leader only and low sub potential of the pantheon, but I see Egypt as a very good pantheon.

Leader Analysis: Anaphon

Poor Typhon gets pushed to the back for a cute grill to take the spotlight. Anaphon is a good mix between Gremory and Myr, with a more restrictive subpool. With the right subs, Anaphon can be a very stable leader for high end content.

SUBPOOL: The subpool for dark dragon or balanced typing is not very wide. Aside from 6* GFE Gremory and MP Purchases Xin Hua and Yomidra, there are few subs that offer double orb create, with Lead Akechi being the most useful here. The team would be more dependent on SI for orb change, or use single orb changers with orb stalling using Anaphon's good stability.

POTENTIAL: The restrictive typing makes Anaphon hard to approach as a newer player, but veteran players with well developed boxes may find the subs to run Anaphon. Ana can do very consistent damage, and it should be enough for Arena 1 to sweep the later floors. She may lack the damage for content higher than that though, due to lack of OE+ like Myr or the high row multiplier of Gremory.

EFFICIENCY: Like most heart cross leads, Anaphon has varying orb efficiency based on your team setup. Anaphon can be ran with Rows or TPAs, and the stronger your team is the less orbs you should need to deal high consistent damage. Anaphon also brings a board change, but quad color boards are not as good so you will want some way to fix the board (Akechi also turns Anaphon board into a bicolor)

STABILITY: Ana has an HP equivalent of Myr when having the heart cross, but also has an HP multiplier if a heart cross cannot be made. An addition, Anaphon is unbindable and brings a Row heart to unbind the team if needed. The team may be lacking in RCV, so you will want to take as few unshielded hits as necessary.

Pantheon Review: Greco Roman

More topics means more writing topics. New article series to examine a pantheon, and examine it as a card in the box and other whatnots. Hopefully makes a good read and sways godfests.

The first pantheon, Greco-Roman, has lasted a long time and has moved up and down from use based on the meta. The Revo forms have become very useful to lots of players, and has always been a quality pantheon.

Minerva is quite useful in her Revo ultimate, and her non-Revo skill is a true damage that lets you bypass Zeal in machine dungeons, and also a 50% defense break if necessary for other dungeons. Her main use is leading in Revo, for the damage reduction and a decent multiplier with a pretty easy multiplier. Alternate uses are in cheese teams, but I don't into cheese teams so look elsewhere. Her low CD and unbindability open up options to turn her into a cleric with a bind clear inherit, while her awakenings offer great utility with some offense.

Neptune is probably one of my least favorite cards in the pantheons, due to my refusal to run water teams and that Neptune is overall, lackluster. While Neptune does have a similar awakening array and leader skill setup to Minerva, water has fewer dangerous bosses when considering his damage reduction. In addition, poison has very few uses, and is on a long CD so inheriting over Neptune is an investment. The damage boost though is quite useful, and is a decent but long inherit for a team that can fully utilize it.

Ceres has quite the strong active skill, in both her pre-awoken state, awoken state, and Ana evolution. A full bind clear on an unbindable card make her a strong cleric, with few offensive awakenings to boot. Her reincarnated form offers everything that you want as a cleric, a row heart, unbindable, and an SBR as well. When considering her for SI, you will want to use her pre-awoken or Ana evolution, and her awoken/reincarnated form as a base for a sub. While not quite as used for her damage reduction capability for cheese, it is still possible.

Venus is quite an interesting card, holding CTW in her pre-awoken form, which has diminished in value due to the increased existence of TE awakenings found on many cards. Her awoken skill is a niche mini boost, but has applications for light OE+ teams (lolwut) and serves as an excellent SI base. I personally use her revo on my Myr team which has taken me quite far, due to her good awakening array and base for SI. When paired with herself, she can easily cheese any light dungeon with 96% resist, but I like to think of her as a luxury sub for any team that can take advantage of her offerings.

Back when OSOBOS meta with gravity was a thing, Hades reigned as a key quality card. Nowadays, gravity is considered a niche skill as higher damage leads arose. Hades is quite a terrible card without the skillup investment, but becomes quite useful once you skill it up. In Awoken/Revo though, the CD and skillup investment is greatly decreased, though the 30% gravity is more useful in some places. However, I believe the revo skill is much more useful to players due to the increased time buff, and Hades himself does quite a lot of damage. Hades double pairing works like Venus, and can be used to cheese Hera Dragon descended. Reco carries

Greco Roman overall is a pretty strong pantheon with many niche applications, and adds good flexibility to your box otherwise, Aside from Minerva, I would say that this pantheon largely serves as good utility subs and inherits

Preparing for Endgame: Arena

Many can consider Arena to be the endgame of PAD. After enough time, Arena has changed to become the standard of leader strength, worthy endgame farming content, and dank lead clears. Arena is largely a test of your skills as a whole, as well as an indicator of what strengths and weaknesses your team has. The more often you run Arena, the better you become aware of how strong your team can be, and what to look forward to when rolling for new cards or for considering inherits.

If you are looking for a leader, refer to an earlier article on how to choose your leader and what to build off of it here. Else, lets start.

First things first: you will want to be very consistent with your leader activation. You will want to consistently hit your strong multiplier when dealing with the later floors in arena, and not hitting your full multiplier means that some bosses can be left in a danger zone, and make the run very difficult to proceed. A lot of Arena can be OSOBOS, depending on your team, but consistency with dealing with your board can help a lot.

Second, you want to prepare your team as best as you can in order as followed: max level, fully awoken, max skill level, +297, supporting inherits, and then latents. Arena can be cleared without latents and inherits, these newer mechanics just make team building easier and content more approachable.

Third, you want to read up on the dungeon itself to know what to expect. Like any dungeon planning, knowing what is next to crucial to whether you need to stall or put yourself in an acceptable position to move on. Floors may have multiple spawns, so you want to be prepared for any spawn and have the proper means to deal with them.

Fourth, you want to have three important utilities on the team: a shield(if you have no HP multiplier or heart cross), a full board change or way to deal with poison, and a bind clear to help out against certain spawns, which I will go over later. A delay is preferable, but not entirely necessary.

Fifth, you need to know how much damage your team does. Going into endless and testing it for yourself is the best way, for you will want to know exact combos and matches you need for under 200k and under 300k, as well as how high your damage is to make sure you can one shot floors or over burst defense. Knowing your damage is good for a couple of resolve floors as well, so you can safely hit under them without taking danger zone hits.

Last, you will want to deal with Kali in some manner, whether it be shielding the first hit so the defense shield is down, or having a burst to push Kali past the 65% threshold.

WHAT SKILLS/CARDS TO CONSIDER FOR ARENA

As mentioned above, you want to bring relevant utility to deal with the potential loss mechanics. You will want a bind clear to deal with Tamadras on floor 6, which can often bar a lot of teams due to high troll chance. After this floor binds are uncommon, but can often happen on floors where you do not one shot the floor.

If your team does not have an HP multiplier or effective health equivalent, you will want to invest in a shield for safety. Floor 19 features DQ Hera, which preempts for 38910 damage, which kills most teams naturally. Shielding the first hit of Kali is also an option, and a strong enough shield can help you survive in danger zone hits. Shielding preemptively for the next floor is kind of what you want to not die instantly.

And the counters

If inheriting the shield anything should work. Just math the amount of hp you need after shielding to know you are safe.

And often an added luxury for teams, delay helps a lot to give you extra turns to stall or to bypass Kagutsuchi's resolve on floor 15 or Zaerog's absorb on floor 18. Quality delays are hard to find, so I recommend saving any cards with delay for inherits.

Cao cao is also an option for fire centric team, but these are generally the more common ones to use on a wider variety of teams.

Putting Kali to under 65% on the first turn is a must, unless you know you can tank the first hit. Aside from carrying a gravity on the team, an adequate burst usually helps a lot to getting Kali there, or even opening up a one shot option through the shield.

Big tips to remember, you want a board change in case of Beelzebub for floor 19 and your shield moving into floor 19 in case of DQ Hera. Aside from floor 19 needing a proper counter and Kali needing damage, the rest of Arena is your skills against the mechanics (except Sopdet and Parvati).

Knowing your team and its limits will affect your clear, and failing the first couple of times is normal. Running Arena with progression is often preferred, so it is better not to run Arena just to "try" it and prepare yourself instead. Refer to a guide for numbers and such, and good luck!
